Control Data tab is used when you want to establish a link between your customer and vendor. You may have customer who is also a vendor to your organization, using this tab you will be able to link a vendor code to a customer code. Apart from that you can also specify your customer's tax related details on this page.

All other tabs can be used to record general data related to the customer.

Remember General Data is common for all the Sales Areas assigned to a Customer Code.

Please go thru the screenshots below and let me know if you have any questions related to any General Data Tab.

China is known for their traffic jams, especially the jam in August of 2012 that lasted 12 days! Forbes recorded this as the worst traffic jam in history. The jam in August was caused by too many cars clogging the roads.

SAP Labs China and the Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport (RIHMT) are working together to build a Taxi Information Management system to understand traffic situations, be able to analyze passenger flow and taxi operations. The crunching of 36 billion data records will help taxi drivers make decisions in real-time to avoid traffic jams and to be available when someone needs a lift. The platform is powered by SAP HANA and will be piloted in Beijing, Kunming, Chongqing and Tianjin.

SAP AG today announced the launch of SAP Shopper Experience, a personalized and engaging retail mobile app that transforms the entire consumer shopping experience with social media sharing, loyalty programs and a self-payment system for shoppers. SAP also released the latest version of the SAP Retail Store Ops Associatemobile app, which allows store associates to execute core merchandising, inventory and customer service functions directly from the shop floor without leaving a consumer’s side. The announcement was made at the NRF 103rd Annual Convention and EXPO, being held January 12-15 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Consumers are increasingly reaching for their mobile devices to research products, compare prices and get recommendations; this behavior has significantly impacted the retail industry. According to Retail Systems Research*, 80 percent of retailers believe their store results will continue to erode unless they incorporate technology as part of the store experience. To help prevent the showrooming trend, retailers identified the top two opportunities: 60 percent cited focusing on a more convenient customer experience and 48 percent cited bringing more digital and online experiences to store.

Businesses found religion in the cloud in 2013. And their appetite for cloud related technologies — from public apps to private cloud to platform — will only grow in the years ahead.
Yet, cloud adoption will no longer be driven on blind faith in the promise of lower information technology (IT) costs. Businesses will move to the cloud for different reasons than in the past. And buyers will both look different and be more informed consumers.

Increasingly, businesses will look beyond just total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits and IT efficiencies and leverage the cloud as a platform for innovation and business agility. Buyers will be more calculated in their cloud purchase decisions, demanding greater flexibility and choice in their cloud portfolio. They’ll also look to harness the power of disruptive cloud-delivered services, such as social and business networks to unlock new value for their business.

So what can we expect from the cloud in 2014? A few predictions:

Not everything will move to the cloud

It used to be that when companies wanted to implement SAP software they began with a blank screen (or even a piece of paper). Since SAP Rapid Deployment solutions, thousands of customers have experienced software implementations that are faster, easier, and more affordable than ever thought possible. Now, SAP has published the definitive guide to understanding exactly what these packaged software solutions are, and how they are revolutionizing the software industry.

“Rapid Deployment of SAP Solutions” was authored by 30 SAP experts from the company’s rapid-deployment team and members of the SAP Active Global Support, SAP Services, SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, and Sales groups. The book features real-world lessons learned from the implementation experiences of 17 companies, and details how they used the solutions’ predefined services, best practices content by industry, and enablement.

Cases focus on the full spectrum of rapid-deployment solutions including pre-packaged offerings as well as integration with and migration to SAP innovations such as SAP HANA, cloud-based solutions, and the SAP Fiori mobile apps. Featured industries include sports and entertainment, life science, chemical, healthcare, industrial machinery and manufacturing, energy, and consumer products.
